For those of you who, like me a month ago, have never heard of a Rum Rummer Flask, permit me to educate you. Rum Runners are flasks which are non-metal, collapse when empty, and less difficult to pick up by cruiseline’s xray scanners. I have to give props to Cate of The Blonde Diaries for introducing me to these great items. I recently purchased their Rum Runner Flask Kit, as well as their 32oz Flexible Plastic Travel Flask
. Their shipping was lightning fast, and I was able to get them for “free” thanks to some rewards from my Amazon Visa.
In order to set them up, you need to fill them with hot water (hint-be sure you order at least a pack of three so you can get a funnel!). This was easily done. I personally feel that my purchase was a good mix for me. DCL does permit you to bring alcohol on board, but I thought having rum and the like in bottles would be cumbersome as opposed to the Rum Runners. Also, as the rum runners aren’t “fragile,” I can keep them in my real luggage if I want.
I also plan on using them on non-Disney vacations as well-I look forward to using them in the dru town I vacation in in Martha’s Vineyard, as they permit you to BYOB. I’m also planning on bringing the smaller one with me to Universal this August for in-room drinks.
Have you tried Rum Runners? What did you think about them?
