WDW Not Just for Kids Review: BH Cosmetics

February 26th, 2012 · No Comments

I had heard of www.bhcosmetics.com via YouTube. Therefore, when I had a chance to check out their products I did.  I chose two items I thought would be popular for my readers: Anti-Shine Serum and the Foundation Primer.

BH Cosmetics anti-shine serumI have pale, oily skin, so I shone in WDW pictures, especially given that I also sweat a lot. Given that WDW’s humidity leads to this for many, I thought this would be a good choice.  It seems like how to hide the fact you’re sweating in vacation photos is a common concern for many travelers-the copy on the back indicates it is to be used by both males and females Anti-Shine Serum came in a pump-top glass bottle, which feels very sturdy-I would put it in my 3-1-1 bag, but I would travel with it. The serum itself is thin, and white. I found it to absorb well on the back of my hand.  For my first test, I tried to recreate usual park face makeup for me-hard-core sunscreen, then the serum, then sunscreen powder.  The powder usually keeps me matte for about an hour, but half an hour later I was shiny.  I also tried it under my sunscreen, and I was shiny to begin with, let alone as time went on during the day.  I was not impressed with this product and I would not recommend it.

Foundation PrimerAs I’ve mentioned before, I use Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel as my usual foundation primer.  I rarely use foundation in WDW, but if I do for an evening out, I use a mineral foundation.  The primer is lighter than my Monistat, and smooths on easier too (actually, it is the easiest-spreading foundation primer I’ve ever used, even more so than Bareminerals).  My powder foundation glided on over it, and lasted all day.  However, the differences between it and Monistat doesn’t justify the price in my book.

You can find BH Cosmetics at their site, TwitterFacebook, and YouTube.

I received these items for free, but this fact in no way affects my review.
