I’m a huge fan of The Next Food Network Star, so I was excited to hear about Jeff Mauro’s special on Food Network, The Mauro’s Magical Disney Vacation. My first thoughts: what was that? No, really, what was that? It was like reading a trip report of someone who tried to spend as little time with his family as possible; my wife is at the spa! My grandparents are watching my kids! I legit feel like you would get more information about Disney from a 30 second TV ad.
I did think some of the food bits were good, and could have used more of those: I loved seeing them make the grilled octopus at Victoria and Albert’s (which, as you all know, is on my bucket list). i also enjoyed the peek at the California Grill. The rest though, was just dumb.
What would have been cool would be a sandwiches of Disney special: start up at Earl of Sandwich, then go on to check out the Sleepy Hollow waffle sandwiches, then onto the Poly for the adult grilled cheese.
