Have you ever considered taking a behind-the-scenes-tour at Walt Disney World? In planning my trips in 2006 and 2007, I toyed with the idea of doing a tour, but the cost gave me paused. I guess I just shelved the idea as being one like La Nouba, in that they were pricey on a vacation when I’d already paid a lot of money for entertainment. However, they seemed like a great idea for adult Disney fans to learn a little more about the magic with like-minded folks. Then my brother and DSIL went on two tours on their October 2007 trip-the Wild by Design (they are HUGE Animal Kingdom fans) tour and the World Showcase Segway tour. They loved these behind-the-scenes tours, and offered to gift me one for my birthday. I strongly debated doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour, as Magic Kingdom is my favorite park. However, as my trip was taking place in December, I opted to go with the Yuletide Fantasy Tour.
The Yuletide Fantasy Tour is a behind-the-scenes tour at Walt Disney World which is awesome. I HIGHLY recommend it to any adult Disney fan. Not only was it a concise way to see Christmas decorations at Epcot, the Magic Kingdom, and the park then know as MGM, but we also saw decorations at the Grand Floridian. Additionally, we adults got to experience a few behind-the-scenes sights. These including going into World Showcase before it opened, when we not only saw the Illuminations globe but also the old character bus. The highlight was seeing the warehouse where they store all Christmas decorations-imagine Home Depot full of Christmas decorations.
For those of you tempted to try a behind-the-scenes tour at Walt Disney World, but are concerned about costs, discounts are available for AAA, AP, DVP and Disney Visa card
holders.

I would definitely consider doing a behind the scenes tour at WDW. I heard from another solo traveler that they were a great way to meet other people. I just haven’t had time on my previous trips, and I do always think about the extra expense. One of these days, though….
